Ho(me)roscope: Home of Capricorn

Home of Capricorn (12.22 – 01.20.)

Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac. Its symbol is a goat with a fish tail – this strange duality also suggests that its people have extremely complex personalities.

One type of Capricorn is ambitious and determined, while the other feels less motivated and complains about the obstacles, whether real or imagined, that come their way, thereby hindering their own fulfillment. Capricorns usually achieve their goals if they work hard and do their best. This does not change the fact that even the most successful people often lament and lament their fate, blaming it for the bumpy nature of the road they have traveled.

As an earth sign, Capricorn is practical, thoughtful, disciplined, and cautious. Due to its cardinal quality, it is sociable, which is somewhat contradicted by its negative, feminine, and introverted nature. It does not tolerate loneliness well, in fact, it specifically requires it. Saturn endows those under its influence with perseverance, and is also responsible for the attraction to earth colors – dull grays, dusty blacks, and dark greens.

The Capricorn home is made timeless not only by the above tones, but also by the natural materials associated with them: wood (preferably polished to a high gloss), linen or pure silk. The conventionalism of those born under this sign is also reflected in their furniture: traditional, familiar shapes, some of them perhaps antique. The appearance of the furnishings is sometimes more important than the comfort they provide: it is enough that they serve their user, and in others, they make a good impression.

The Capricorn host rarely decides to buy expensive designer items, especially if he deems them useless: he doesn't waste money at all. He is content if his guests consider his living spaces elegant - if it were up to him, they would radiate a completely puritanical, almost Spartan rigor and somber dignity. His apartment is like a dark-colored tuxedo or a woman's little black dress in terms of clothing: it meets expectations, no one can find fault with it - but it may lack real refinement, at most it is there in a barely noticeable, small detail.

When it comes to patterns, Capricorns opt for traditional motifs: plaid, stripes, or maybe floral.
They design their environment tastefully, but avoid luxury. They pay for quality – within the limits of rationality. They are not characterized by moving their furniture around – once they have found the right arrangement, they are content with it for a long time.

Capricorns like classic style, but they don't feel bad in a modern setting if it's functional. They appreciate what they inherit from the beginning, even if it's not valuable old pieces - eclecticism brings a touch of excitement to their interiors.

If, through their success, they occupy a leading position, and thus it becomes justified for their home to play a representative role, for example, to be the scene of important business dinners, Capricorn is willing to allow some luxury – let's say, for the sake of prestige, they are ready to shape the image of their living areas in their own image, which they want to show. Among their new acquisitions may be a quality, heavy solid wood chest of drawers or sideboard, a serious, authoritative sofa upholstered in dark leather, dinnerware made by a famous brand, a dazzling chandelier. We can see: the representative of this sign can be extremely stingy towards himself, but if he wants to impress others, he will make the necessary sacrifice – we can also define it as an investment.

His wry sense of humor emerges at the most unexpected moments – this can sometimes be seen in one of the rooms of his residence. Underneath the ground, which represents security, is probably wood (Swedish flooring or tongue-and-groove parquet), his perennial favorite black and white, diagonally laid floor tiles. His metals are heavy, gray lead and fine silver.

The Capricorn type, who is small-minded, pessimistic, and torments himself with depressive thoughts, can also escape into the world of music – according to some astrologers, this constellation is related to the mythological Pan, who chased the desired, beautiful nymph until her father, the god of the lake, turned her into a reed out of mercy. The hapless goat-legged creature carved a whistle out of the reed (perhaps it was the thirst for revenge that was at work in him?) and sought solace by playing bitter, heart-wrenching melodies. Even if you don't insist on a music room, it's worth investing a hefty sum in a perfect-sounding audio system.

His garden, where he can produce the goods the earth has to offer, can bring him peace. If he longs to touch it, he can take up clay - the craft activity will deepen his connection with his essential element of existence, and perhaps find temporary peace.

Let's wait patiently for him to invite us to his place – don't volunteer, don't force the visit. When it's most convenient for him, he'll let us know – presumably in a measured, polite message...
